Only two actors required...
- A 'waypoint'
- A 'follower'
The first actor type, the waypoint, does not require any behaviors, events or collision shapes. In fact, it doesn't even have to be visible (visibility can be toggled within the follower's behavior)! Simply place as many waypoint actors as you require in your scene.
The important point to note, is that the waypoint follower will travel around the waypoints in the order that you added them to the scene.
Tip 1: This behavior can be attached to multiple follower actors, and they don't all have to follow the same waypoints - each follower actor can have its own path to follow, as long as a different waypoint actor type is selected for each different path!
Tip 2: If you plan to have multiple follower actors, ensure that their collision groups are set up appropriately; if they collide with each other, then the waypoint follower behavior will not correct the direction in which they point after the collision!
For a full explanation and demonstration of the features of the Waypoint Follower behavior, please see the Waypoint Follower YouTube video tutorial, which has been recorded in HD.
